All-On-4 Dental Implants: When Can I Go Back to the Gym?

Do you love going to the gym? I personally used to love going to the gym (one day I will go again!) and would be disappointed to know I can’t go to the gym after having a flu shot done. You may love going to the gym as well, but after having All-On-4 Dental Implant surgery done, you really should avoid going to the gym for at least 2 weeks.

You don’t want to inadvertently put pressure on the healing gum tissue, bone, implants, or your new smile. You may also raise your heart rate and start bleeding again, which will considerably slow down the healing process. The implant to bone bond actually gets weaker first and then strong, and the weakest point is 2 weeks after surgery. Please try to take it easy the first 2-3 weeks from any movement.

Once your implants start healing, you can resume lighter workouts at the gym. If you find yourself clenching or grinding your teeth while you work out, you should wear the mouthguards we provide at the gym to reduce pressure on the healing implants and teeth. And always try to ‘Keep the lips together and the teeth apart’.

In one day, you will have the smile you’ve always wanted, ready for friends, colleagues, and family to see, and we’re sure you will be in tip-top shape after the surgery in no time!
