If you are considering All-On-4 Dental Implants, chances are you have been told you are not a good candidate for other dental procedures, including traditional dental implants. You may be wondering, “Am I a candidate for this procedure?”

The Good News is that most patients are a candidate for All-On-4 Dental Implants, even if they were not good candidates for traditional dental implants or other dental procedures. Because we are replacing the entire set of teeth at once, we can place the dental implants where there is good bone, instead of where the teeth are missing. If you have even just 4 spots of good bone in all corners of the jaw, you are a candidate!

What if you were told you need sinus lifts or extensive bone grafting? Sinus lifts and extensive bone grafting can take a long time and be costly. All-On-4 Dental Implants avoid the need for sinus lifts or extensive bone grafting in most cases because we are able to angle the implants to access the good bone. This allows us to save you healing time and extra costs.

What if you’ve worn dentures for a long time? Chances are you may not have seen a dentist for a while, and your previous dentists may have told you you have no options for fixed teeth. Those dentists may not have known about All-On-4 dental implants. All-On-4 procedure was developed specifically for patients who’ve worn dentures for a long time, although the technique has improved to help patients with constant teeth problems as well.

Not everyone is a candidate for All-On-4 Dental Implants. One of the reasons can be your health. If you’ve had a recent heart attack or a stroke, recent chemotherapy or radiation in the head/neck area, have had IV bisphosphonates (osteoporosis medication given through a needle), uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension, uncontrolled bleeding problems, are on immunosuppressants or on some of the newer biologic medications, have vitamin D deficiency or other health problems, you may not be a candidate right now. This doesn’t mean that you will never be a candidate, for most situations as long as we get your health under control again, All-On-4 procedure can be successful.

For some patients, there may be just not enough bone to work with, or the quality of bone may be very poor. However, these situations are rare. The only way to know if you are a candidate is to have a consultation with proper CBCT X-Rays.

The chance for you to change your life, get rid of the denture problems or constant teeth problems, and get the smile you’ve always wanted may be waiting for you!
