While we offer traditional porcelain crowns, which can take up to three weeks to create and place, the team at Blooming Family Dental can restore your tooth in just one office visit!
First, your dentist, either Dr. Chang or Dr. Kim, uses an intraoral camera and CEREC® Primescan to create a precise 3D image of your tooth. The impression is used to create your crown in our on-site CEREC® milling machine, 3D printing your restoration.
While the CEREC® Primemill is fabricating your crown, your dentist will prepare your tooth for the final crown to be placed. Your dentist will gently remove a layer of enamel from your tooth so that the crown will fit securely and comfortably. This is done to make sure that it looks completely natural once cemented in place.
When your crown is ready, your dentist places the restoration on your tooth. They will check to ensure a proper fit and seal it with a resin that hardens upon exposure to a curing light. The whole process can take as little as one hour, depending on the type of restoration needed. As soon as you leave our office, you'll be smiling with pride!
