How Long DoCEREC® Same-Day Crowns Take?

While we offer traditional porcelain crowns, which can take up to three weeks to create and place, the team at Blooming Dental & Implant Center can restore your tooth in just one office visit!

Typically, we allow for a minimum of 90 minutes to complete your Same-Day Crown. We strive for efficiency while not cutting any corners.

Our amazing assistants will first 3D scan your teeth while your mouth is getting numb.
Then, one of our experienced dentists will clean up your tooth by removing all the cavities and bacteria.
Once a clean surface is ready, we will build the tooth up to replace the missing parts of the tooth with tooth-colored material.
Then, depending on the needs of the tooth, we will only shave as much of the tooth as necessary to strengthen the tooth to protect it from fractures and leaking.
The 3D scan is updated with the prepared tooth, and your doctor will design your new crown on our Primescan computer.
The design file is sent via WiFi to our Primemill machine, which will start milling your crown right away. This can take 10-20 minutes.
After the crown is milled, it is hand-finished by our amazing dental assistants, then fired in our Speedfire or CS2 oven to achieve maximum beauty and strength.
While the crown is milled and fired, you can work on other teeth, go shopping at T.J. Maxx across the street, or enjoy one of many Netflix shows on our TVs!
When the crown is ready, it will be cemented to your tooth to restore it to full beauty and strength. As soon as you leave our office, you'll be smiling with pride!

How Long Do CEREC® Same-Day Crowns Last?

The materials we use for CEREC® Same-Day Crowns are just as strong as conventional two-visit crowns. You can extend the lifespan of your crown by practicing good at-home care and attending regular checkups as recommended by our dental team.

In the rare event that your crown falls out, with conventional 2-visit crowns, we have to start the whole process over again including the three or more weeks of waiting. With CEREC® Same-Day Crowns, we have all of your crown design files stored on our computers. We can simply push a button and have a replacement crown ready for you in 30 minutes.

In the event that your crown is weakened due to cavities, because we are able to shave the tooth down less with CEREC® Same-Day Crowns, you have better chances of saving the tooth to be repaired as opposed to having it extracted.
