Dr. Chang has been treating hundreds of patients with Invisalign for several years. Some patients have Aligner fitting issues, where trays don't fit very well with the teeth.
In the past, we have used suction tubes, cotton rolls, or other products that had a round shape to try to recapture the tooth with Aligners. This method had some success, but when it didn't work, it resulted in unwanted movements, slowing down of treatment, and sometimes need to "reboot" the case to recapture the teeth with a new Aligner set.
Munchies® was introduced to the market a few years ago, and this was the game changer! It came with special silicone of different hardness, grooves made to fit upper front teeth, lower front teeth, and a hole for the canine teeth (eye teeth). Soon, we started seeing reduced treatment time, predictability, and more comfort during treatment. Many patients started noticing that their Aligners "fit better" on their teeth, and enjoyed the companion to their Aligner treatment.
Dr. Chang first started using Munchies® for difficult cases, but soon realized the benefit of using it for all patients. At Blooming Family Dental, every Invisalign now case comes with a set of Munchies® included!
